STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame (OMHOF) honored four iconic Red Dirt music acts Saturday night during The Boys of Oklahoma concert in Stillwater, celebrating the enduring legacy of a genre steeped in Oklahoma’s rich musical landscape.
Stoney LaRue, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, The Great Divide, and Cross Canadian Ragweed were officially inducted into the Hall of Fame, marking a milestone moment for the Red Dirt music movement.
“These four inductees were all in the same place, on the same stage, at the same time for four nights,” said Tony Corbell, OMHOF executive director. “We could not be more proud to induct these fantastic talents into our Hall of Fame. I guess you could say Red Dirt music is not just alive and well—it is thriving in Oklahoma.”
Hugh Foley, a founding board member of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, presented the awards alongside Corbell.
John Cooper, Red Dirt Rangers founding member and a former Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame inductee, joined as a special guest, representing past honorees and highlighting the generational reach of the Red Dirt genre.
The evening brought together fans, fellow musicians, and supporters to celebrate a style of music born from Oklahoma’s red clay and grassroots songwriting traditions.
